The funniest thing about the x files has gotta be mulder’s expense report. Just imagining some poor fbi accountant being like “what the fuck do you mean mulder flew to Hong Kong??? Who approved this???”

i always forget my grandma used to be a clown so it caught me the fuck off guard when she saw this

and no hesitation saying “oh it’s that creepy clown- oh he’s drinking that’s against clown code”

1. ARE YOU NOT GOING TO EXPLAIN YOUR GRANDMA’S PAST CLOWN CAREER?
2. WHAT’S CLOWN CODE??????????????

Clown code.

I call a lot of y'all clowns but it turns out that’s too good for you since even they live by a code.

My grandmother didn’t allow her clowns to participate in a PSA back in the 80s because it would have violated The Code. They got actors to scab the roles anyway. My father long resented to loss of Ad revenue and publicity, but my grandmother was the sort of lady who would not sacrifice the dignity of the Clown for any price. Remarkable woman. It’s an open question as to how much the whole debacle contributed to the closure of her Clown College, but I suspect she wanted out of the game by then regardless.

Most of the clown code is reasonable but I love the stipulation that clowns are obliged to do as much clown work as possible

“The Writers’ Strike might delay the next series of Doctor Who :( ”

Bestie there over 800 episodes across all 39 seasons, 1000+ audio dramas, a podcast, 60+ comic volumes, 500+ novels, a movie, an animated series, 41 episodes of Torchwood (spinoff), 54 episodes of the Sarah Jane Adventures (spinoff), 8 episodes of Class (spinoff) and 10 documentaries. You will die before you exhaust all original content. Shut the fuck up.

This is not the first time doctor who has been affected by strikes. While I can’t find the original documentary, “Strike! Strike! Strike!” Goes into more detail on what happened with Shada. Here is also a short video on YouTube that explains it better than I could ever.

Doctor who is such a massive series that a few months or even years of delays won’t mean no content. Go listen to like big finish or something.

Hell yeah!! Remember — the Doctor is 100% a Unionist:

The endpoint of capitalism. The bottom line, where human life has no value at all. We’re fighting an algorithm, a spreadsheet. Like every worker everywhere, we’re fighting the suits.

When Tim is feeling salty towards Bruce, he types up his mission reports completely in emojis

The reports are still long and detailed but they are simply illegible to Bruce and he’s trying to explain this to Tim

Tim: there’s nothing wrong with my reports, they have all the detail you usually ask for

Bruce: Tim, these are nonsense, nobody can read these

Steph walks up and looks over Bruce’s shoulder at the reports

Steph, engrossed in reading the report: Holy shit, Tim! Killer Croc attacked you with a laser gun he stole?! Where the fuck did he get a laser gun?

Tim: *motioning toward Steph in a ‘see? it’s totally understandable’ way*

Bruce: *baffled bat noises*

so SAG-AFTRA finally released some official guidance for fans, viewers, creators/influencers, critics, and more during the strike. here’s what you need to know:

  1. if you see a publication/news source/journalist talking about a piece of struck work, that’s ok. they’re allowed to do that.
image

2. they’re asking regular viewers and fans to DONATE TO STRIKE FUNDS, SHOW UP TO PICKETS IF YOU CAN, and please do NOT boycott streaming services or movies in theaters.

image

3. influencers, content creators, cosplayers, and anything in between is still a bit of a grey area, but they’re asking people to use their best judgement. “organically” means UNPAID promo (like an invite to a premiere without being paid, being sent a publicity box, letting the company’s social media post a photo of you in cosplay, etc).

image

obviously this doesn’t answer every question, and isn’t hard and fast rules for fanworks, but it can at least inform how you personally choose to move forward when posting online and moving publically. i hope this helps!

Since Tumblr doesn’t show reblogs in regular tag searches. I’m gonna make a separate post from the last one.

Lo and behold, a more accurate biblically accurate Robin summary.

(I’m posting one where it can be seen in tag searches because I’d like to minimalize misconceptions of the characters)

You know when someone goes through your blog on a mass like-spree for a fandom? I love those like, 19 notifications in a row. it’s like “Ah, I see you’re well into a fixation. God bless.”

I like when your dash fills up with something incredibly specific from one poster and it’s like “oh you’re trawling a specific tag tonight”

Holy fucking shit queer people really fucking hate masculinity

Like, I know anyone following me has seen me talk about this shit but fuck

This queer movie review podcast is talking about 70s glam rock fashion (a favorite of mine) and the one host says “an effeminate man is his true self, because masculinity is fake, the only way to be real is to be feminine”

Like, what the fuck? First of all, way to discount generations of queer people, and displays of queer masculinity, great job. Second, tell me you’ve never spoken to a trans man or a butch or literally anyone who’s ever been forced into a feminine social role or feminine presentation without telling me.

I hate how pervasive this attitude is. I hate how it makes it uncomfortable, at best, to exist in queer spaces as someone who is not, can not, and does not want to be sufficiently feminine.

anytime ppl tell me masculinity is inherently restrictive and violent i think abt the fact that peak jewish masculinity is studying talmud and taking care of your family and giving your wife multiple orgasms.

“It’s become easier to imagine the end of the world than to imagine the end of capitalism,” and in much the same way, I think it’s become easier for a lot of people (including and in many cases especially men) to imagine the end of the male gender than to imagine positive forms of masculinity.

But we’re gonna fucking have to. There needs to be a positive vision of what masculinity can be so that men, once they do the work of abandoning the patriarchal, racist, supremacist and bigoted forms of masculinity that they are taught, have somewhere better to go, and someone better to be.

Like, yes, I know it’s tempting to be like “not my problem, fuck ‘em, let them figure it out.” And to some extent fair enough, this is work whose primary burden should fall on men and masculine people. But cis men don’t have a monopoly on masculinity. Spare a thought for transmasc people, spare a thought for nonbinary and genderfluid folks with masculine expression, or, hell, butch women who incorporate parts of masculinity into their womanhood. It’s their fucking gender too, y'know.

i mean they/we have figured it out. there’s tons of cool and fun alternatives to toxic masculinity. as was pointed up upthread, plenty of jewish men have this on lockdown, and there’s plenty of other cultures besides that we could all celebrate and learn from too. and then even queer-specific types of masculinity like leather daddies, bears, bulldykes, butches, transmascs of all stripes… are right now authentically celebrating their masculinity.

so the problem is really everyone else who needs to pay attention and behave themselves, in this situation.

like, to wring our hands, at this point in time, and say ‘oh we need to figure this out, we need to come up with a good masculinity, we need there to be a positive solution’ is letting everyone else off the hook for being the problem. because there’s already dozens of great ways to be a good man, and there are millions of good men, loving themselves and loving each other and loving everyone else around them too. that’s done. that’s solved. we did it.

now it’s the rest of the community’s turn to actually meet us where we’re at.
